This is a video of what it actually takes to make an HP Pavilion Laptop run at normal temps. The GPU on this one idles at 32-33 Celsius. It maxes out at 44 Celsius after long stress tests are running, I cannot get it to go any higher, the best part about this mod is the fact that once the stress test ends it goes back down to 33 Celsius within 60 seconds. Under normal operation without mods it takes much longer for the GPU to cool down. This mod also dramatically reduces heat from the CPU as well. I have not made my base yet however it will only need to be 3/4" tall, I am thinking I will put some 3/4" thick double sided insulator tape and just leave the cover on the bottom side and stick the other side to the bottom of the laptop under the lcd side. I have it so the fan pushes cool air up into the laptop directly hitting the GPU. Overall very good results. Email me if you have any questions.
